I've been planting in the SW for a few game years. Once harvested the area should be left unplanted next year. NW has been unplanted aside from one field and I intend to plant there next year.
Every plot of land need time to recover from being planted. If over harvested you will only get 8 handfulls of wheat for every 10 hand fulls sewn. I'd like to see only the north or south fields planted each year.
If next year we plant only the NW for say 15 fields we should get around 250 hand fulls of wheat. The next year we could feasably plant 30 fields for a yield of 500 wheat. In any case, we will get a better return on investment if we limit planting to North or South each year and have to spend less time walking to stockpiles.
I know this idea is half baked and I'm hoping that some of you all could polish this turd into usefulness.

A stockpile was destroyed! 3 hours ago. A storm blew across The Feral Hills, doing 7 damage to a stockpile 3 hours ago. I had 100 wheat in that stockpile, crap.

Storms? That's something new.
I like your idea for crop rotation. I just wish we could plant somethign other than wheat.

I won't make the mistake of putting everything in just one stockpile next year but you would think some warning about a major change to the game should be mentioned. Deadwood needs to save some wheat for planting next season and then not put it all in one spot.
If this is going to be how it is perhaps we should have storage alts. I don't like the idea but if 100+ wheat disappears as a victim of using a stockpile that no one had any idea could be just erased by wind... Hey, That should be mentioned by Issac... Or screw him lets exploit some rules and be secure in more than stock piles but rather everything by using cache alts.

Right now I'll be happy if the white screen problem goes away.

I'm not sure about the white screen thing but I was able to recover just about everything that was in the stockpile by standing there and clicking search over and over. So long story short I recovered most the the 100 or so wheat I thought I lost to the storm.

I'm going to be planting in the NW this year. I think the SW is played out for awhile though some of the farthest fields may be okay.
What do you guys think the best way disseminating a crop rotation plan to our members might be?

Probably to put a sign up near some of the fields directing them to this thread.
I am opening a few new fields near the river just south of the town.
